As I made my way around the first annual WaterEC conference
last week, I finally saw a years worth of work set into motion right before my
eyes.
Mark Norton, P.E., water resources and planning manager
with the Santa Ana California Watershed Project Authority, delivered a very
strong presentation at the opening general session sponsored by Aclara, addressing many
critical areas of concern for the three hundred water efficiency and
conservation professionals who were in attendance. Throughout the conference, it
was encouraging to see attendees meeting with vendors and taking advantage of
our many networking opportunities to exchange information and ideas. The opening
reception, which was hosted by Elster AMCO Water, was also
an excellent networking function and allowed for casual interaction during the
live music and exceptional complimentary buffet. A terrific time was had by all.
The diversity of people I met during our three days in
Newport Beach were from all around the country, and the world for that matter.
The shared interest and enthusiasm for the educational curriculum we offered was
very rewarding, and the feedback we have received thus far will be instrumental
toward planning our 2010 event.
I would like to thank all of our sponsors, exhibitors,
presenters, and moderators for their participation and support. Please visit our
