Smart Irrigation Systems

By: Cutright, Elizabeth Comments

Forester University will be hosting the Get Smart about SMART Irrigation webinar tomorrow.  Click here for more details.

Here's a look back at my blog on Smart Irrigation Month

The Irrigation Association (IA) designated July as Smart Irrigation Month in order to raise awareness about smart irrigation and water efficiency for outdoor water use. The IA’s Smart Irrigation Month Committee, which oversees the program, is committed to a three-prong attack that involves developing a message about “the benefits of smart irrigation products, practices, and services,” creating tools to help “industry firms and professional, water providers, and other stakeholders” to promote Smart Irrigation Month, and establish a campaign to encourage smart irrigation practices and technologies.

Major players in the irrigation industry—including everyone from local water districts, to home improvement mega stores, to the big names behind some of the most widely used irrigation systems—have signed on to the movement, promoting smart irrigation practices through a variety of public outreach methods: rebates, educational seminars, and other public awareness campaigns.

In honor of Smart Irrigation Month, here’s a rundown of our previous coverage for intelligent irrigation systems.
