EDINA, Minn. — October 13, 2008 — Dow Water Solutions, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company and global leader in water purification, seawater desalination, contamination removal and water reuse solutions, will present its methodology for integrated membrane operations during the WEFTEC.08 in Chicago, October 18-22, 2008.

As part of the WEFTEC.08 seminar on “Advanced Water Reuse Treatment Technologies,” Dow Water Solutions will discuss the reliable and long-term operation of integrated ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) operations as a viable solution for both industrial and drinking water in water-stressed areas with highly turbid and variable feed seawater. Over time, the combination of UF and RO minimized biological contamination, coagulation chemicals and antiscalants and allowed for successful reuse of the plant wastewater through proper monitoring.

The ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis presentation also includes commercial case studies and will take place on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the South Building of McCormick Place on Level 5 in Room S501cd. The paper, authored by Dow Water Solutions’ Steve Rosenberg, Robert Chu, Angela Yeung, and Thomas Tong, will be presented by Angela Yeung during the session.
