The new Badger Meter ORION In-Home Display (IHD) enables utilities to offer their customers the option of monitoring their at-home water use on an easy-to-read, remote display. Once programmed to the appropriate ORION transmitter, the IHD will begin to receive and display metering information. Customers can access this display to view hourly, daily, or monthly water use data numerically or in seven-day graphic intervals. A built-in magnet allows for location on a refrigerator or other appliance. This simple, convenient display enables customers to quickly understand and reevaluate their water usage, while at the same time helping utilities to reduce the number of billing inquiries and disputes.

The Unmeasured Flow Reducer (UFR) works with water meters to measure low-flow water caused by drips and leaks. Since low-flow water can account for up to 14% of household use, and unmeasured water is non-billable, the customer can maximize revenue by installing the UFR. By capturing low-flow water, and then batching it through the meter at a measurable volume, the UFR helps meters register nearly every drop. The UFR can also help homeowners identify and fix drips and leaks, for greater water conservation.

PRESSURE PIPE INSPECTION CO. LTD.
The Pressure Pipe Inspection Company’s (PPIC) PipeDiver technology set a new distance record of over 22 miles during the inspection of a 99-inch diameter water transmission main in central Mexico. This milestone inspection represented the longest distance traveled by an electromagnetic based system while the water main remained in service. The project demonstrated the versatility of the PipeDiver tool as it was inserted and retrieved from the water main via standard access chambers. Minimal site preparation was required, and once the tool entered the pipeline, it traveled at virtually the same flow rate of the water main. The flexible design of PipeDiver allowed it to navigate through a variety of bends and elevation changes.

Containment Solutions announces new aboveground residential line of rainwater harvesting tanks, Water Geek tanks, are made of non-corrosive, rustproof fiberglass, and standard capacities that range from 300–1,000 gallons. These durable cisterns are 6 feet tall to fit within fence height restrictions and can be painted to blend in with a home. The tanks are lightweight and easy to install.

AMERICAN’s Flex-Ring flexible restrained-joint ductile iron pipe available in sizes 4-inch through 48-inch, utilizes the sealing features of our Fastite joint and a boltless restrained connection. The Flex-Ring joint provides positive restraint against endwise separation due to thrust, while still maintaining axial deflection flexibility up to 5 degrees. Recognized by installing contractors as the easiest and quickest to assemble, the joint is designed for a working pressure up to 250 psi. Flex-Ring also lends itself perfectly in installations using horizontal directional drilling and pipe bursting.
