The Solar Sync ET sensor is an advanced weather sensor that calculates evapotranspiration (ET) and adjusts Hunter controllers daily based on local weather conditions. This solution provides golf course superintendents with GIS of the variability in soil moisture, salinity, compaction, and turf health to more efficiently manage water and other resources. The patented system collects data such as soil moisture volumetric water content, salinity, compaction, turf vigor Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, and topography. Data is stored in an onboard computer during the collection process and relayed to Toro for creation of GIS-referenced map images. Turf managers can then receive two types of reports: a Precision Irrigation Audit, and/or Precision Irrigation Management Zones.
