Sorek Desalination Ltd. (SDL), a consortium led by IDE Technologies, is developing and constructing a reverse osmosis facility in Israel. The Sorek Project, when completed and operational, will be the largest plant of its kind in the world.

Why:
IDE is a global leader in the desalination industry, providing the largest operating Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) plants as well as some of the largest Multi Effect Distillation (MED) and Mechanical Vapor Compression (MVC) plants worldwide. IDE also offers industrial water treatment solutions, both thermal and membrane based, mainly for the oil, gas and power industries.
Since 1965, IDE has built 400 desalination plants throughout the world with a cumulative capacity of over 2 million m3/day. This includes 25 MED desalination units in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region with a cumulative capacity of ~500,000 m3/day, including large projects in India and China. In addition, IDE has large SWRO projects currently under construction in India and Australia.
